Stebani Cruz “La Boricuba” is a dynamic new artist expressing her Puerto Rican and Cuban roots through music. Her music is a blend of melodic Reggaeton, Latin House and romantic ballads – some say her music is rooted in what is now being called Musica Urbana.

Making of the CD

While I was traveling extensively in 2006, to promote Latino youth in the competitive sport of figure skating, I contracted a life-threatening illness known as Viral Meningitis. This illness affected two years of my life and jeopardized my ability to reach my goals and dreams.

During that time, I began to reflect on who I was, where I came from, what I had accomplished, and all the possibilities that lay ahead. Nevertheless, I was blessed to have a group of very-special people in my life that encouraged me to begin writing music. This inspired me to write my first song “Eres Tu”.
The songs on the album represent who I am and the feelings shared by most women. In essence, my songs are an inspiration about living life to the fullest and taking risks to make dreams a reality and most importantly to always remember that it is never too late to fulfill your dreams.

I’ve been blessed to come across many extraordinary people who support and inspire me, especially the men want to thank.

Eddie Baez, the man behind my record label. You are an amazing partner who has been patient during the course of my continuous questioning. Your continued belief in me throughout the making of this album has made this an extraordinary journey. I love you;

Shawn Lucas, you are a brilliant lyricist/artist. Your patience, tough love and humor reminded me every day how lucky I was to have you in my life. Thank you for giving me my nickname, P.L.W.G.;

Marlon Saunders, thank you for helping me understand my voice and reminding me to always sing like myself and no one else. Your continuous encouragement and support inspired me to be more than what I imagined;

Marcos “Markito,” you are one of the most young-talented producers/artist I have ever worked with. Thank you for helping communicate my Latin roots into this craft. I could always count on you;

Cesar Bonilla, you were my anchor who believed and encouraged me. Thank you for opening my heart and helping me excel the course of my journey. You’re the inspiration behind many of the songs on this album. Te amo. Sammy you are a blessing, thank you for making New York possible for me. Every time I heard your voice, you touched me deep within my soul. Your voice is amazing. I am so happy that you are part of this project.

Tom Pelligrini, my “Will,” you are the inspiration behind “Don’t Lose Yourself.” You always encouraged and reminded me to stay true to myself. For that, I will be eternally grateful. I love you.

I would also like to thank my family especially my daughter, the greatest love of my life, who stood behind me and believed in me when I decided on making this album. She reminded me every day that I only have one life to live.

As Hillary Clinton said “it takes a village to raise a child”, it took a group of astonishing people to come together and believe in the making of Stebani Cruz. To all of the people I haven’t thanked, I am eternally grateful.

Lastly, I want to thank God. Thank you for all that you’ve done for me. My gift back to you loving and embracing the many blessings and gifts you’ve given me.
